About the Book

The book is about a little duck named Gumboot who finds a new home on a farm Dam in Central Queensland. Gumboot makes friends with all the chooks and a grumpy old dog. Gumboot goes on to be-friend the little girl from the big house on the hill before meeting all the humans. The little girl names the dam after her new friend who now calls this pond home.

About the Author

I’ve spent most of my working career as a Fire fighter in Australia but over the past couple of years I have been employed in the Health and safety/Quality assurance/ Emergency response fields. On the writing front, I have been writing fishing articles for various magazines in Australia and occasionally in New Zealand. These articles were about Family mis-adventures mainly which erred on the funny side. People have always said that I should write books but I didn’t really have the confidence in my ability until I penned Adventures at One Duck Dam. This was meant to only be for Leilani until other people read it and pushed me to publish it. I must admit that I get a lot of fun writing for Leilani. I also get great pleasure knowing that other people get enjoyment too. I have just started a second One Duck Dam book introducing new characters like “Wallaby Jack”. I hope my little girl likes it.
