Items Summary
The Fetherling surname originates in the 1700’s in Germany as Fitterling. Viet Fitterling arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania November 2, 1752 along with his family. Over the decades and years since, the surname took on variations such as Fetherling and Featherling. The branch of the Fetherling line which inspired this book began with the marriage of John Matthew Campion to Elizabeth Julia from Ireland. They had eight children one of which was Julia Campion. Julia married Home H. Fetherling in 1900 in Cass County, Indiana.
Julia Gatlin Lovett, who is known to her family as Judy, is a long-time genealogy researcher whose interest has turned to one-name surname studies. Although The Fetherling Boys is a family tree depiction of the surname, a second book will be published soon in conjunction with the subtitle, a branch of the Fetherling-Gatlin Family Tree. Living in northwest Tennessee, her other interests include, and not surprisingly, vintage crafts. When not researching family lines, she is webmaster for her online retail shop for vintage goods and booths at the local antique mall.
