SATISH C. BHATNAGAR has been professor of mathematics at University of Nevada Las Vegas since 1974. After seven years of working in the colleges at Bathinda, Shimla, Kurukshetra and Patiala, in 1968, he joined Indiana University, Bloomington for an American PhD. A stroke of luck that brought him to Las Vegas for one year has now become his hometown in USA. Nevertheless, Bathinda remains his hometown in India. Annual overseas trips, long walks and yogercises keep him oxygenated for Reflections on varied aspects of life. His interests in literature, mathematics, philosophy, history, science and religion have been on parallel tracks since college days. At the age of 77, when most professors are gone intellectually, Professor Bhatnagar has been scaling new peaks in non-fiction writings.
