This book is not a novel or fiction but is a real life story of an adventurous journey by the author in search of his birthplace. It was a place he had never seen before and had only dreamed about. He was too young when his parents had no other choice but to leave their house, family, friends and above all, their motherland, known as State of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with thousands of other people, they were forced to migrate to Pakistan, a newly emerged state after the independence of the Indian Sub-Continent from British Rule in 1947.
Haroon R. Choudhary is a Canadian citizen, settled in Alberta with his family. His roots go back to the Indian sub-Continent State of Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Choudhary was born in Jammu city, the winter capital of the State, in February, 1946. He belongs to a middle class noble family. Graduate in Architecture (1969) having extensive technical and project management experience with reputed firms, on various projects in Alberta, Canada, and overseas in South Asia and Middle East. Now living and enjoying a retired life, he spends his time watching news and TV shows and writing. He loves to spend time with his grandchildren and enjoys their company. He has a passion for travelling, sports and history. As a writer/social critic, he shares his opinions and comments about current affairs on Facebook. He likes to keep in touch with family and friends.
