The following poetic tale relates the story of a group of Rhode Island Red chicks that we raised. Of the original group, only two survived. This is the true story of the adventures that those two chickens experienced as they were raised.

About the Author

Tina grew up in Kansas City, MO, earned a BS in Biology from Baker University and a teaching certificate from Emporia State University (ESU). She later earned a master’s degree from ESU. Between part time teaching and coaching, she spent a lot of time as a stay-at-home mom. Thus, came the experiences of raising chickens and three young boys. The tale was written 20 years ago and only a small printing was done at that time for the family. Today, Tina would like to share the poetic tale with a wider audience and point out her favorite part: the way the sun manages to sneak into almost every picture imparting its own emotional response to the saga as it unfolds. You might also get a glimpse into the mind of a ten year old boy.
