CHARLES ESSERT
Born in Milford, NE in 1895 and died in El Cajon, CA, 1978. This may have been his only book-sized writing but he was a prolific writer of songs, among which were, “Time Was when I loved only you”, “My Heart Is High”, “_ e Night When We First Met”, “Twilight dream”, “Won’t You Try”, and especially, “The River of Love”, which he wrote while he and his kid brother, Paul, age 10, were lying on the bridge over the Arkansas River in Canon City, CO.
ROBER ESSERT
Born in 1930 in Greeley, CO, as a nephew to Charles. He is currently a retired engineer. He is the editor and publisher of “Zits”, An Autobiography of a Very Special Cat” and “Ajax _ e Good, Big Giant”. Both of these were originally written by the same Paul who helped Charles write “_ e River of Love”.
